Adaptation of seniors to the stay in homes for elderly persons

This bachelor thesis deals with the adaptation process of older adults to residence in nursing homes. The aim of the thesis is to analyze selected factors which may influence the process of successful adaptation of the elderly to the nursing-home environment. The selected factors include: voluntary decision-making to move into a nursing home, participation in social activities provided by the nursing home as a part of the residential care and intensity of contacts of the residents with their families. The theoretical part is focused on defining the basic terms and concepts in relation to the examined issue. The empirical part is a survey designed as a field research. Methods of statistical analysis will be used to analyze the data gained through structured interviews
