The article exposes the association between urban-regional politics and the paradigm models of economic growth. Since Keynesian model, the national States began to consider to the regional income disparities and welfare as problems to solve through the application of public politics that promoted the growth and the regional development. In the evolution of the dominant ideas in the matter of economic growth, the work distinguishes three periods: the influence of the Keynesian model, neoclassical theories and neoclassical new models that emphasize the endogen of growth character.
