Representaciones sociales y su relación con prácticas vinculadas a la sustentabilidad del agua, un estudio con líderes rurales

This research arises from the concern with the environmental reality that we are experiencing at the moment and the impact that it has had in rural areas. Starting with important antecedents of an international and national scale, it contextualizes the problem of water in the community of Atlatongo. There is a presentation of the relation that exists between the systems of thought of the rural leaders of the community of Atlatongo and the practices related with the sustainability of water; or what we have called sustainable behaviour based on concrete objectives and hypotheses. The concurrent methodological model is used, combining ethnographic, documentary and fieldwork aspects. The results, based on the focus group interviews applied to the drinking water commissions, derive from an analysis of the content of these interviews. Finally we present the results, highlighting the conditions necessary for sustainable behavior to emerge, as well as the need to foment a culture about water, whose underpinning basis is a sustainable representation for water that generates sustainable behaviour.Esta investigación nace de la preocupación por la realidad ambiental que se vive actualmente y el impacto que ha tenido en el ámbito rural, enuncia antecedentes importantes del orden internacional y nacional sobre esta realidad, a fin de contextualizar la problemática del agua en la comunidad de Atlatongo. Se plantea la relación que existe entre sistemas de pensamiento de los líderes rurales de la comunidad de Atlatongo y las prácticas vinculadas a la sustentabilidad del agua o lo que hemos llamado comportamientos sustentables con base a objetivos e hipótesis concretos. Se utiliza el modelo metodológico concurrente que integra aspectos etnográficos, documentales y de campo, basándose en las entrevistas aplicadas a los patronatos de agua potable mediante la técnica de grupo focal, cuyos resultados se obtienen al aplicar un análisis de contenido a dichas entrevistas. Finalmente presentamos los resultados obtenidos, destacando las condiciones necesarias para que emerjan los comportamientos sustentables, así como la necesidad de fomentar una cultura del agua cuya base subyacente sea una representación sustentable del agua, que genere comportamientos sustentable
