Perinatal welfare is one of the elements in reproductive health that promotes a healthy maternity without any risks through the use of strategies to reduce cases of death. This study aims to describe women’s experience in their reproductive phase and the influence on perinatal welfare of an Indigenous community in the state of Guerrero. It is a qualitative–exploratory study, carried out in seven native women. The data were obtained through a semi structured interview and participant observation. The results show the importance of beliefs and customs during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. These customs influence women to take care of their health and give them stronghold for their own growth, development and survival. This cultura...
