Turkey and the European Union

The purpose of the bachelor thesis is a description and analysis of mutual Turkish-EU relations. Turkey is introduced from a geographical, political and economic point of view. Important historical milestones, which have played a crucial role in the development of this country and it's integration process aiming towards EU membership, are mentioned as well. The thesis reflects attitudes of selected EU member states towards Turkey, primarily the relationship of neighbouring Greece. Arguments for and against Turkey joining the EU are presented in this thesis, attention is paid to the issue of the islamization of Europe
