Hands of training in the first year- class of nurse training - first students contakct with patients

This Bachelor thesis is focused on practical part of education in the first year of General Nurse Subject and their first contact with patients. Specifically concerns students without medical focused high schools education. These students are first time in hospital environment during their practical training in winter semester. Theoretical part of this Bachelor thesis describes present General Nurse educational system in Czech Republic and describes closer view at theoretical-practical preparation before first practical training. Objective is focused on student?s preparation level before the first practical training, their communication skills, team work and general rating of their training. Objective contains research questions and research was realized with the help of semi-structured interview method. Each interview was realized with three research subjects. First subject included students without medical focused high schools education in the first year of General Nurse Subject, second subject included nursing procedures teachers and third subject included Nurses mentor from Hospital Ceske Budejovice a.s. All gained information?s were processed into case interpretations and collected data were put in the category charts. All research questions were answered and objectives were fulfilled. This thesis brings results how students rate their training, their improvements during the training and at importance in communication skills preparation. Results also points at potential imperfections and negative experiences during practical training. Quality investigation conclusion indicates areas where improvements of student?s preparation could be done
