Historical and geographical aspects of population development in Černovice

This thesis deals with historical and geographical aspects of long-term population development in the city of Černovice. Research is mainly related to the period of 19th and 20th century. During this period, each settlement went through a development which was influenced by many aspects (natural, social, cultural, economic, political). For the industrial period population size of cities can be considered as fully adequate indicator for monitoring the status of the comprehensive development and position. The The main aim, which is based on a detailed analysis of population development, is to clarify the roots of its present condition, size and position in the Czech settlement system. This study also searches for determinants, causalities and the specifics of this development in the wider regional context. The final section summarizes the results and benefits of work.
