This bachelor work is focused on the origin and fuse of the toponym ?Ukraine?. It presents the basic views concerning the word. The work collects description and linguistic-historical analysis of toponyms designating historic areas of Ukraine such as Halych, Volhynia, Carpathian Ruthenia and others. The analysis focuses not only on the historical development of the mentioned areas, but gradual territorial formation of Ukrainian territory
