Land use changes in the Czech Republic and in Europe and their driving forces

The goal of this work is to develop a comprehensive overview of the main historical changes and turning points in land use in Europe. Particular attention is paid to the area of the Czech Republic, especially in the period since the Industrial Revolution to the present. This work was created thanks to the available statistic bases of the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping and Cadastre, FAO and databases of the basic territorial units of the LUCC Czechia project. Preliminary extracts are devoted to defining the term land use, analysis and clasification of the most widely used systems and classes in the Czech Republic and internationally. An integral part of this work is also to determine the causes of changes in land use, ie. effect of driving forces
