Evaluation of behaviour of dogs and their owners in selected parts of the city of České Budějovice

The goal of this thesis was to ascertain the level of competence of owners in approach to the dog in selected parts of the city of České Budějovice - in Nemanice and surroundings and in Stromovka. The questionnaire was handed back by 57 dog owners, 31 owners from Nemanice and 26 owners from Stromovka. The questions concerned the dog origin, teaching of basic commands, training and the owners' reactions to situations provoked by the dog. The results show that the owners from Stromovka are more competent than the owners from Nemanice. Also the owners' reactions to common situations with the dog were more often correct in owners from Stromovka than in those from Nemanice
