This thesis which focuses on the topic of Faust in the puppet theater is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the story of Faust as it is. It narrates its classical form of Goethe?s adaptation which also becomes a base for the second part of the thesis. It shows an outline of what we know about the topic up to the present times, it defines basic concepts which can be found in the story. It also focuses on other forms of adaptations, not only on those before the Goethe?s one but even on the later ones up to the present times. It searches for the origin of the theme by means of an overview of the literature which is connected to it also in alternations from other domestic and foreign authors.
