Funding the early phases of socialistic industrialization in Czechoslovakia between 1945 and 1953

The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the process of socialistic industrialization in Czechoslovakia between 1945 and 1953. Czechoslovakia, which had already undergone its industrialization phases in the 19th century, was to go through a similar process once again. The thesis tries to examine the industrialization process itself as well as reveal the motivation that made the contemporary government and political leaders adopt such a procedure again. Attention is paid to industrial sectors involved and methods used in the process. The thesis offers various cases that document exploiting the machinery of the enterprises in border areas that had been abandoned after the post-war expulsion of Germans. Moreover, further efforts to minimise the costs of the process are also explained.
