The Workload of High School Teachers

The main aim of my bachelor thesis was to characterize parts of the secondary school teacher´s workload and to analyse the workload of teachers at selected secondary schools. The workload can be described as a dissonance between requirements for the teacher and his or her skills and possibilities. The workload is generally divided into the physical and the mental workload. The first part of bachelor thesis deals with basic characteristics of a teacher, a profession of a teacher, a workload and its parts. The second part of bachelor thesis describes the chosen secondary schools and analyses the workload of the teachers from several points of view (e. g. type of workload, school, gender and duration of doing this profession). The analysis provides information about higher rate of the workload of the grammar school´s teachers, women, and teachers who do this profession more than fifteen years. It also informs that the physical load is harder. All the respondents try to prevent themselves from the workload by means of ac-tive and healthy life style and also by active and passive relaxation
