Carbon footprint of computers in the computer class at VSE

This bachelor's thesis is about carbon footprint. It looks into assessing of carbon footprint. Theoretical knowledge is applied afterwards in a case study. Main goal is assessing of carbon footprint of computers that are located in computer class. The first part is about definition of carbon footprint. Then there are presented three different points of view of carbon footprinting. There is a part focused on software solutions that helps companies monitor their carbon footprint as well. Second part of this thesis includes the case study that is focused on assessing of carbon footprint in the area of information and communications technology. There is an analysis of activities and processes that computers in class are involved into. Then the consumption of electric energy is measured. On its basis the size of carbon footprint is calculated. The result offers the estimation of University of Economics' size of carbon footprint that is suitable indicator in the context of environment protection
