Territorial Development of Jáchymov Spa

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the territorial development of Jáchymov town in West Bohemia. The historical centre of the town was declared as the urban conservation zone by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic in 1992. However, the current state of the zone is critical and its appearance does not correspond to the status, which the town has reached before. Theoretical part of the thesis analyses historical causes of present state. The practical part is focused on the revitalization of the town core and describes actual project of the Republic Square general reconstruction. In case of the project realising, the town would gain the attractiveness, incoming tourism would increase and bring financial resources to the town. These resources would be allocated to renewal and salvation not only heritage protected buildings. This thesis was processed on the basis of appointment and continual consultations with employees of Municipal authority in Jáchymov.
