Technology of winter poppy growing and its use in the Czech Republic

Poppy is one of the main and traditional crops in the Czech Republic. This work is directed at winter form of poppy marginally grown in the Czech Republic up to now. The aim of this work was summarized current kmowledge about characteristics and requirements of this crop, alert to differences in yield parameters, yields and qualitative characteristicts between spring and winter form of poppy, recommend on the basis of information in literature and experiences of growers suitable technology of winter poppy growing. There are available knowledges especially about characteristics, yield parameters and yield of Zeno 2002 variety. According to reached results of yield parameters from experiments in the Czech Republic, Winter poppy seems better than spring poppy
