The main goal of the submitted thesis is an analysis of the global art market and the Czech art market during the period of 2007 - 2012. The principal problems, which are connected with the art market, are mentioned. The next part of the thesis describes institutional forms of the art market with the emphasis on the Czech Republic. The last goal is focused on issues of the Czech art in relation to the global art market
