Heroes in the colors of Zhang Yimou is mostly about three movies from famous director Zhang Yimou. Hero, House of Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower are epic movies which combine martial arts with drama and philosophy. Stories are amplified and influenced by color stylization. In Hero colors support construction of the movie. Silver and gold are figting against each other in Curse of the Golden Flower and House of the Flying daggers is shot in colors of nature. My work also looks into symbols of those colors and tries to find out whether those symbols are understandable for European as well as for Chinese audience and how European audience can profit from Zhang Yimou´s interpretation of the world
