Impacts Of Tourism Industry In Santubong Towards Socio-Economy Of Santubong Villager : A Perception Study

A general objective of this study is to examine the impacts of tourism industry in Santubong towards socio-economy of Santubong villager. There are three specific objectives of this study. First specific objective is to identify types ofjob and business opportunity which are generated from tourism industry in Santubong for Santubong villager. Second specific objective is to examine the income of the employees and businessman from Santubong Village who are working and doing business at Santubong tourism area influenced by arrival of tourist or not. Third specific objective is to identify types of physical infrastructure provided in Santubong Village due to tourism development in Santubong. Research population of this study is Santubong villager who are working or doing business at Santubong tourism area. Researcher had interviewed chief village of Santubong Village and human resource manager of every selected organizations and distributed questionnaire for 50 persons of selected respondents. In other words, two methods used by researcher to collect data for this study were interview and distribution of questionnaire. Due to this situation, all the data collected for this study is considers as primary data which are not get from secondary source such as books and intemets. The research findings find that tourism industry in Santubong is generating various types ofjob from lower position to higher position work and business opportunity for Santubong villager. Apart from that, most of those employees and businessman's income are influenced by arrivals of tourist where more tourist arrivals then higher income, bonus, profit or commission. Besides that, there is only one type of physical infrastructure provided in Santubong village due to tourism development at Santubong
