Quantifying sexual size dimorphism of penthetor lucasi based on cranial and dental characteristics using logistic regression analysis

Information on the sexes of specimens in the Natural History Museum is more often lacking. The prediction on sexual size dimorphism of P. /urasi was carried out using specimens from the UNIMAS FRST Museum and analyzed using an initial t-test and simple and multiple logistic regression based on their cranial and dental data. Significant differences were found in the second molar tooth crown width, canine tooth basal width and postpalatal length using t-test. Meanwhile, the significant parameters obtained from logistic regression is the canine tooth basal width in dental data, postpalatal length in parameter for cranial; dentary length, canine molar length, breadth across both third molar teeth outside surfaces and canine tooth basal width as multiple parameter tier cranial and dental characteristics. The equation obtained from dental, cranial, dental and cranial is Y, - 18.075 11.916 (C'BWC), Y, = 14.215 - 1.274 (PPL); Y, = 51.43 - 1.573 (DL) - 3.841 (M3M3B) + 6.004 (C'M'L) 2 1.639 (C'BWC), respectively. The predictions for dental is 67.5 % correct, cranial is 55 % correct and for the combination of dental and cranial are 75 % correct
