Approaches to archiving of digital documents

This bachelor thesis deals with problems of digital archiving (or digital preservation). The objective is to analyze the current possibilities of archiving of digital documents and to characterize the supply side of services market in the Czech Republic, which focus on these activities. From the standpoint of the structure the work is divided into two parts. In the first - theoretical, based on studies of literature and internet resources, I dedicate first on definition of document and digital document, the properties of digital documents, their anchorage in the Czech legislation, and their life cycle. The following are the approximated terminology of archiving, description of the digital archive and the actions it performed, and finally is set out the life cycle of digital archiving. In the second part - practical, then there are described and displayed the results of the research of the Czech market, focusing on services related to digital archiving and determined statements about the market conditions in the area
