The result should answer the question, if the film popularity is connected with its kitsch or not, and mainly what is the position of kitsch in contemporary Czech film. The theoretic part summarizes definitions of kitsch and outlines the situation in contemporary Czech motion picture industry. The practical part is comprised of analysis of top ten the most popular Czech films from 2010 given their kitsch using the theory of kitsch by aesthetician Tomáš Kulka
