Elite and Mass Culture in the Cinema of the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis focuses on the difference between elite and mass culture in cinema from theoretical and practical point of view. The first part of the thesis addresses the description of both types of culture (elite and mass) and it focuses also on the historic moments that are essential for that kind of division in cinema. The empirical part describes Czech cinema. It explains what types of movie theaters are associated with elite and mass culture in cinema and what types of programs, audience and ticket prices are connected with it. The last part of the thesis focuses on the survey of audience preferences
