The Czech Asylum Policy After the Year 2004

The thesis for the bachelor degree deals with the Czech asylum policy after 2004, i.e. after the country´s accession to the European Union. The main objective is to identify the share of enforced immigration, i.e. refugees, on the overall immigration to the Czech Republic. In the introductory part I will outline differences between voluntary and enforced immigration. I will also describe the situation after the Czech Republic´s accession to the European Unions, from the viewpoint of enforced immigration. Another part of my thesis describes the asylum procedure that is absolutely mandatory for all applicants for international protection on the territory of the Czech Republic. One of the chapters pays attention to the integration of applicants who have been granted international protection - a process that is far from easy. An important part of the thesis is also the attempt to monitor the development of opinions of Czech population in respect to refugees and, based on an analysis of the public opinion survey, I have also tried to find out whether the people discern between voluntary and enforced migration
