This text presents basic analysis of the functioning of the Arts Council England. First section describes the main sources of funding arts and culture in Great Britain. Special part is devoted to the activity of the UK National Lottery. Next chapter examines the history and effect of the Arts Council England. A separate section deals with the impact of economic crisis on Arts Council England and presents how the recession affected financing of culture in the UK. The final chapter is devoted to application of the funding system of Great Britain to the Czech Republic. It describes the possibility of transferring some aspects to Czech life and the possibility of creation the same organization as Arts Council England in Czech Republi
