This thesis describes the piano works of Claude Debussy. The first chapter summarizes life, artistic growth and style of the composer noting some of his important works. Following one lists all his known piano works including compositions for piano solo, four hands, works for two pianos and for piano and orchestra. The last chapter intended to be the most important tries to characterize Debussy´s piano style and diverse features of his piano compositions. Matters of connection of poetry to music, function of melody, types of melodics, rhythm, measure, agogics, harmony, modality, pedalization and other are mentioned
