Drama Activities with Eldery People

THE ABSTRACT In this dissertation I describe my attempts to set up drama activities in a residential home in Bristol, England. The reader will learn about the lessons that I taught in two groups of elderly people, divided according to the level rate of memory damage. I deal with the behaviour of the individuals during and after lessons, as well as describing their backgrounds. I describe the changes, which might have been caused by the drama lessons. The theoretical section addresses the particular symptoms of old age and I seek to establish what Drama in Education may offer to elderly people. Appendices are included, which document the materials I used, what the groups produced and detailed descriptions of the participant's behaviour during each activity
