City as scene - carnivals

In my dissertation work I?m occupy surrounding of carnival and folk celebration. On very beginning, I?m specify the term of carnival and continue on historic facts as they are coming from time of ancient Greece and Rome. Next following chapter is dedicate to history of carnival in Italy, specifically Venice, as the most popular one. Another part of my work decribe Carnival of culture from Berlin. Important part is dedicate to brasil carnivals specially to Rio de Janeiro and Salvador da Bahia. One of the chapters is written about czechs carnivals which is connect with hilarity folk culture. The main part of dissertation study is dedicate to Prague carnival, running since 2004 and I?m working as main organizer of it.
