This thesis describes a few of the most important international youth orchestral projects in Europe. It also lists the institutions working in the field of musical activities for young people in Europe. The thesis is divided into three chapters; in the first chapter, I have tried to map the network of the most important umbrella organizations in Europe that support youth orchestral activities, and thus help create favorable conditions for these projects to emerge and survive. The second chapter discusses particular international youth orchestras in Europe.
