Development assistance of the Slovak Republic

The main purpose of my thesis is to describe the development assistance in general, its functioning in the Slovak Republic and also the role of the Slovak Republic in the world of the development assistance. My work is divided into four main chapters. The first one explains the term of development assistance, concept of historical events and it briefly describes the major global players in the development assistance. The second chapter focuses on the functioning of the development assistance in the Slovak Republic, as well as its financing, management and institutions dealing with such assistance. The third chapter sets out priority sectors and the countries into which the development assistance is aimed to. The last chapter outlines the pros and cons of providing such assistance and there are also expressed my opinions and suggestions of its further possible directions
