The scope of bachelor's thesis "The European Union as one of the actors of humanitarian aid in crisis areas of the world" is to present EU's activity of providing emergency assistance and relief to the victims of natural disasters or armed conflict in countries of the third world. The main part of the paper aims to approach activities of the The Humanitarian Aid department of the European Commission (ECHO) with an overview of its operation, policies, the geographical operation and financing of humanitarian projects. The last chapter focuses on cooperation ECHO with his other partners (UN agencies, ICRC, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies) and their cooperation in providing humanitarian assistance
