The European transport policy: air transport

Since 1987 the air transport policy has been an official part of the common transport policy of the Community. The aim of this thesis is to deal with the chronological development of the air transport policy of the EU while focusing on the process of liberalization and its impacts onto the single internal market for aviation within the EU. This thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part there is a general description of the current air transport. The second part deals with the importance of the air transport for the EU. There are mentioned its performance and other figures. The last part, the main and most extensive part of this thesis, is focused on the actual chronological development of the air transport policy within the EU, starting with the first phase of the liberalization process, ending with a look into the future
