EFFECT OF SUBSIDIES FROM EU TO DEVELOPMENT OF SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Small and medium enterprises are the European Union seen as the backbone of the European economy. The European Union spends a large amount of funds which are provided for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. This thesis deals with the influence of European subsidies for the development of small and medium enterprises in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part presents the structural funds and shows why the EU seeks to promote small and medium enterprises. The second part deals with operating the program, from which small and medium-sized enterprises can receive subsidies. It also discusses the effectiveness of pumping. The third section quantifies the transaction costs of obtaining grants. The fourth section, using statistical data and studied the three criteria, examines the impact of subsidies on the development of SMEs and the Czech Republic
