Comparison of development of basic economic indicators of SR, CR and EU since 2004

The goal of this Bachelor's Thesis is to evaluate the basic macroeconomic indicators and data of two interconnected economies (Slovak and Czech republic) and their comparison to the common European economy as a whole. The theoretical part defines and describes the GDP, unemployment and inflation, their types and ways of measurement. The practical part discusses the year periods since joining the EU (2004) till now (2010). The main goal is to point to the closing of the "scissors" between the average of EU and our national economies expressed by the purchasing power standard per capita. This indicator shows improvement in the times of growth but also during the recession (even when national economy showed negative results). It is a result of recession not only in our economies but also in the European and world economy as a whole
