Counterfeiting of money as part of the shadow economy

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of counterfeiting, especially in the Czech Republic, eurozone and some other selected countries. The first part of this study, include introduction to the historical and legal framework, explores the process of making counterfeit banknotes and real banknotes, including current statistics of its quantity and the overall trend. Furthermore, I deal with the question of fight against this issue in terms of national and multinational institutions. The second part analyzes the economic models that address the issue of counterfeiting. These models are used by knowledge from game theory and costbenefit analysis. The main purpose of this work is to explore this issue including its impacts and comparison of approaches of various countries
