Geral Fuerst Interview, 11 July 2014

This interview was conducted as part of the CSU 50th Anniversary Commemmoration. Gerald Fuerst is a Cleveland native who attended Cathedral Latin and later CRWU for both his bachelor\u27s and law degrees. He served as a representative in the Ohio legislature from 1962-1966 and was one of the co-sponsors of the CSU Bill. Later he served as the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Courts, winning 9 elections and holding the position for 38 years before retiring in 2013. In this interview Fuerst discusses his role in sponsoring the CSU Bill, relating many of his experiences as a legislator and describing several of the relationships that he had with people in politics. Fuerst discusses his time as Clerk of Courts and details what the responsibilites of the job are. Later in his career Fuerst attended Cleveland-Marshall Law School for continuing legal education and describes those experiences as well as the experiences that several of his family had in attending CSU
