Positive Ethics Factors and Associations With Ethical Decision Making in Counseling Psychology

Ethics education that utilizes remedial approaches has not reduced the substantial disparity between students’ ability to recognize ethical dilemmas and their willingness to complete an ethical action. Positive ethics instruction may improve ethical decision making processes and increase desirable ethical outcomes through the use of ethical acculturation. This study will describe positive ethics factors consistent with positive ethics values and principles. Participants will rate their ethics education experience on an instrument designed for this study. To explore associations between positive ethics instruction and ethical decision making, participants will respond to a modified version of Bernard and Jara’s (1986) Ethics Scenarios
