This thesis focuses on the personality of Vladimir Holub (1912-1995), the South Bohemian artist and an unjustly neglected solitaire who, with his contribution to Czech modern art, belongs to an important but so far unmapped chapters of the Czech cultural history. Vladimir Holub is primarily associated with Surrealism. In addition to his artwork and sculptural work is also remarkable his rich correspondence with many leading personalities of national and world art and literature. The thesis focuses at this correspondence, which is stored in the PNP.
