The development of the relation between Papal States and Italy

Bachelor thesis aims to map the development of relations between Italy and the Holy See since 1860, with an emphasis on the Lateran Agreement of 1929. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first one attempts to explain the situation surrounding the unification of Italy and its split with the Church. The next chapter deals with the relations between Italy and the Papal States in the years 1870-1929. The third chapter analyzes the so-called Lateran agreements and approaches on how provisions affected the life of the Italian population. The fourth chapter is devoted to editing the Lateran Agreements, which occurred in 1984, and are known as Gli Accordi di Villa Madama
