This thesis discusses about architecture and symbolism of Buddhist buildings, concretely about stupas and pagodas. It is divided into three chapters. The first of them introduces these buildings in general. The second describes the most extended symbols, used in Buddhist architecture. Final chapter recounts architecture of several Buddhist states and their particular landmarks
