Scóre Systems in Intensive Care

This bachelor´s thesis deals with mapping out of score systems in intensive care environment. The bachelor's thesis consists of two parts. The theory part deals with nursing in intensive care environment, patient's needs, score systems and measurement techniques in nursing care. The practical part of the thesis pursues two objectives and works up three assumptions. The first objective was to map out the use of score systems in intensive care necessary for nursing care. The second objective of the thesis was to establish if nurses are familiar and can use measurement and evaluation technique in nursing process of the intensive care environment. The first assumption was based on a prerequisite that nurses employ the score systems in intensive care. The second assumption was based on the prerequisite that nurses are familiar with score systems used in intensive care. The third assumption expects that measurement and evaluation techniques used in intensive care assist nurses in providing care to patients. For purposes of this research performed in February and March 2011, a quantitative method using questionnaire investigation was employed. The anonymous questionnaire form contained 24 questions and 24 subquestions and was distributed among critical-care nurses of the Fakultní nemocnice Královské Vinohrady hospital in Prague 10. Results of the survey were output in clearly presented diagrams. Discussion results were compared with specialized literature and expert contributions. The final part of the thesis contains summary results of the survey and assumptions of the thesis author are confirmed or rebutted herein
