This thesis seeks to map out what type of gender stereotypes the child in preschool age meet with and simultaneously establishes whether these stereotypes appear in children's behavior. The theoretical part focuses on describing the process of gender socialization and some gender stereotypes which we meet in the kindergarten environment. The creative part is based on the use of qualitative methods, namely observation and semi-structured interview. This part describes some specific situations which occurred during the investigation at two nursery schools and summarizes the results of interviews carried out with eighteen teachers of kindergartens.
