The beginning of education in Prachatice. Intend on Czech Elementary school (1881)

The thesis is focused on the description and summary of the development of education in Prachatice. It briefly describes education in the Middle Ages and especially in a literary school. Then it deals with a stage of existence of the German grammar school, later the Czech one. A national problem is outlined he re, which means co-existence of the Czechs and the Germans in one town and its close surroundings. A subsection dealing with this national point of issue is rather shorter, nonetheless the problems of a quality of neigbourhood relations penetrate the whole thesis. Then the thesis deals with a Czech Elementary school in detail, with circumstances concerning its establishment and its operation during three periods, which means in the years 1881?1918, 1918?1938, during occupation and first years after liberation. The last stage is rather brief in comparison with the previous two. The thesis ends with the year 1949, thus with a year when the sign Elementary school disappeare
