Transport of Germans from the region of Nové Hrady

The present diploma thesis examines the period from the end of the World War II and the deportation of Germans with the emphasis on the region of Nové Hrady. The introductory parts delve into the historical context of the events that led to the utter ruin of Czech and German relations in the territory of Czechoslovakia. The central part of the diploma thesis focuses on the problems of the resettlement of Germans in the territory of the Czech Lands and the region of Nové Hrady, together with the issue of Beneš decrees, which were discussed within the European Union. The conclusion of the diploma thesis outlines the process of a new colonization of the region of Nové Hrady as well as the fate of prominent personalities of the said region.
