Impact of current legislative changes to implement family care for people with reduced self-reliance

The family care is identified as an informal care satisfying the needs of a person with diminished self-sufficiency in his (her) natural home milieu. The willingness and readiness of the family to care for a person with diminished self-sufficiency is not only time demanding, but it also represents both physical and psychological ability of the person providing the care who has to give up his (her) own preferences. It is necessary to give the family ssistants help and support ? financial, legislative and institutional, and to enable them to render a qualitative care and to prevent them from being endangered in their health conditions.In the theoretical part of my thesis, I concerned myself, on the basis of the documentation analysis method, with the characterization of the integrated care concerning the families who attend a person with diminished self-sufficiency and with including of this integrated care into the Medium-term Plan of Social Services Development of the South Bohemian Region and of the Community Plan of Social Services Písek for the time period 2008 ? 2010. These two plans are responsible for the availability of the social services. In the practical part of my thesis, on the basis of the interrogation method and the documentation analysis, I found out, how the integrated forms of the support towards the family assistants providing the care for persons with diminished self-sufficiency are being completed on the territory of the autonomous district of Písek. The research whole consisting of the family members providing the assistance to persons receiving care allowances from the town Písek and its surroundings, from the towns Protivín, Mirovice and Mirotice with their surroundings, certified, that it is possible to arrange a social care in all these towns and villages. On the basis of the research I found out, that even if the legal regulations enable to provide a whole range of health and social services, in the region, there still exist great differences in the representation of the providers. It is necessary to upgrade the care by expansion of social services so as the needs of each community can be satisfied. First of all, it is necessary to focus on the expansion of the care services, of the day care, social welfare institutions, day service centres, facilitating services and prsonal ssistance, by which the family care is preserved
