Activities of the European Union in Kosovo

The essence of this bachelor thesis is in activity of European Union in the Balkans{\crq} region with a view to the territory of Kosovo, which has recently gained independence. For better understanding it is necessary to generalize this problem and contextualize ethnic diversity, poor economy and general instability. Attention is also paid to modern history and to operations of international organizations NATO and UNO on this territory. To analyze these problems I use especially International and European law. One of the most important activities of the European Union towards Kosovo is civil mission EULEX organized within the frame of the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Goal of this thesis is to describe actual activities of European Union on this territory and to consider their contribution in light of long-term development not only of this new state but also of the whole Balkans{\crq} region
