The thesis entitiled "The coordination of units of the Integrated Emergency Service System at height and at altitude" deals in the chapter "Current situation" with the development and history of climbing as such and the beginnings of Czech mountaineering, a definition of the Integrated Emergency Service System including all its component parts and also how climbing disciplines pervade the units of the emergency services. It also describes the various sorts of rescue work performed by the Integrated Emergency Service System. Above all however it gives a view of the activities and equipment of climbers and climbing groups in the Fire Service.
