Coordination department of integration rescue system with clinbing and rescue work

The thesis entitiled "The coordination of units of the Integrated Emergency Service System at height and at altitude" deals in the chapter "Current situation" with the development and history of climbing as such and the beginnings of Czech mountaineering, a definition of the Integrated Emergency Service System including all its component parts and also how climbing disciplines pervade the units of the emergency services. It also describes the various sorts of rescue work performed by the Integrated Emergency Service System. Above all however it gives a view of the activities and equipment of climbers and climbing groups in the Fire Service. It also contains a brief description of the use of individual cable techniques, the basics of knot tying, rescue methods, materials, aids, and individual procedures for work at height and at altitude. The aim of the thesis is to map the individual cable techniques and rescue methods of climbing groups and to present a statistical summary of rescues by climbing groups in the Czech Republic over the last five years. For research purposes I have used statistics from the SSU/ZOZ programme. These figures are shown in charts and graphs. It can be seen that there has been an equally large amount of work performed during the last five years at height and at altitude. In Southern Bohemia however the trend of rescues by climbing groups over the last five years has been a growing one. During 2009 the most frequent type of rescue according to the statistics was from trees. The question set at the outset of the research was therefore confirmed
