Foreign Literature and Culture in Czech Memoirs of the 19th Century This submitted thesis is to explore the influence of foreign references to literature on Czech national revival authors in the 19th century. The appearance of refferences to foreign literature and its characteristics in the explored documents shows a statement of cultural reception. In the first part the term {\clqq}memoirs`` is defined by describing its tradition, its categorization and by explaning the problems with the memoir genre specifications. In the second part references to foreign literature in Czech memoir from the 19th century are looked up. Sources are analyzed by the contained points of view.
