Art nouveau architecture in České Budějovice - its builders and classification of selected buildings

The topic of bachelor thesis is deeper exploration of Art Nouveau architecture in České Budějovice. Particular buildings are presented in connection with the beginning of the 20th century urbanism. Except the function of the buildings is emphasized applied facade decor. Selected buildings are analysed from art-historical point of view and classified within Czech and central Europe Art Nouveau architecture. Furthermore there are introduced sponsors of selected buildings and described regional aspects of architecture with influence by European cultural centres (Prague, Vienna), which significantly determined the nature of local buildings. Finally, important architecture companies are mentioned with stress on Josef Pfeffermann and Antonín Hübschmann, the most prolific architects at that time
