Defects in the language of younger pupils

The thesis deals with the speech defects of up to 12-year-old school children. It has two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is on speech communication in general as well as on speech therapy practiced in the Czech Republic. Then follows the standardized list of the Czech phones and brief characteristics of the vocal organs which participate in creating the conditions that allow the sound form of speech. A chapter on the complex development of human being speech is part and parcel of this part. It focuses mainly on the most frequent pronunciation defects and the ways of curing both intact population and differently abled individuals. Frequent defects and those analyzed in specialized literature are presented in this thesis. The practical part is mostly based on the theoretical data described in the previous chapters. A record of verbal speech of the children living with aphasia completed with some language peculiarities form the first chapter. The next part is the research in graphic form in which particular attention is paid to pronunciation defects with pupils at basic and secondary schools.
